Want to make the best iced latte? Here's everything you need—the milk, the coffee, and the machine! And all at reasonable prices. You can thank me later!;)

Updated: Nov 22

I don’t care that summer is over—I’ll continue to enjoy my daily iced latte (sometimes two) for the foreseeable future. I’ve tried and tested many combinations at several London cafes and at home, often ending up disappointed. However, the combinations I’ve come up with at home have rarely let me down.

I know oat milk isn’t the healthiest, but honestly, I don’t care—this one just works so well for me and my taste buds. No wonder it is sooooo popular! Of course, I’m talking about the Oatly Barista Oat Drink - for a little under or over £10 for 6L. Here’s the link:

The crucial thing for making iced lattes is, of course, an espresso machine. I’ve never been a heavy coffee drinker, so I didn’t know much about these machines or what type I’d need to make the best iced lattes. My requirements were simple: quality, ease of use, a nice design, and value for money. After hours of research, I’m happy I settled on the Daewoo Espresso Coffee Machine for just over £70. Here's the link:

I’ve been using it daily for nearly two months now and haven’t had any issues. However, I did notice that the filter holder body doesn’t handle the dishwasher well—that’s the only downside I’ve found so far. It caused some discoloration, but now it looks kind of rustic on the outside, so I don’t mind. 😄 The machine looks great and doesn’t take up much space on my kitchen counter. It’s also easy to clean!

Next, and very importantly, let’s talk about the coffee itself. I recently ran out of coffee beans from the only London café I trust to serve me the best iced latte (and believe me, I’ve tried so many over the years!). In my 'desperation,' I decided to give the Union Hand Roasted Coffee Revelation Espresso ground (200g) a try, and I’m not disappointed at all! I really love the aroma. Add this to the Oatly, using the Daewoo machine, and plenty of ice, of course, and you shouldn’t be disappointed!

Price-wise, I know you can find it for less at some shops—my local off-licence sells it for £5—but if you have Amazon Prime and prefer the convenience of delivery, I think just under £8 is just about reasonable—not ideal, but acceptable. Here’s the link:

Lastly, what’s nicer than drinking your iced latte from a chic glass? Here’s the link to the glasses:

Two glasses for just under £8.

They’re perfectly fine in the dishwasher.

The only downside so far has been the longer delivery time, even though I’m a Prime customer, but it was worth the wait. You can see the images below. I don't recall where I got the larger bamboo straw from, but it should be easy to find on Amazon.
